What is Buccastem used for?
Buccastem is used for controlling nausea and vomiting associated with migraines in adults over 18 years of age.
How does Buccastem work?
Buccastem contain prochlorperazine and it works by blocking dopamine receptors in an area of the brain called the vomiting center. This restricts the vomiting center from getting the nerve messages that are responsible for causing feelings of sickness (nausea) and for the vomiting reflex.
How to take Buccastem?
The usual dose of Buccastem tablets is one or two tablets twice a day. Do not exceed this dose. Do not take Buccastem for longer than two days. If your symptoms persist after a certain time consult a doctor.
What to know before taking Buccastem?
Buccastem may cause drowsiness. If affected do not drive or operate machinery. Do not drink alcohol while taking Buccastem M because it can make drowsiness worse.
Can Buccastem cause problems?
Along with their useful effects, most medicines can cause unwanted side-effects although not everyone experiences them.
How to store Buccastem?
Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children. Store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and light.
