Coversyl contains the active ingredient perindopril arginine. Perindopril belongs to a group of medicines called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.

How Coversyl works?
Perindopril in the pill belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. Perindopril works by helping your blood vessels relax and widen. This lowers your blood pressure.
When is Coversyl prescribed?
Coversyl is prescribed for heart failure. Heart failure means the heart muscle failing to pump blood strongly enough to supply all the blood needed throughout the body. Heart failure is not the same as heart attack and does not mean that the heart stops working.
How should the medication Coversyl be used?
To treat high blood pressure or after a heart attack, the usual starting dose of perindopril is 4 mg taken once daily.
When used to treat congestive heart failure, the starting dose of perindopril is 2 mg.
